Energy Information Service for Landholders
The Energy Information Service for Landholders (EISL) is a free phone service for farmers and landholders in Queensland. The service is available Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 5pm and can assist by providing information and guidance on a range of energy matters.
The EISL can support farmers with information about:
- details of access to government and industry support
- community energy engagement opportunities
- tariff information
- energy infrastructure coexistence / landholder hosting
- on-farm energy saving initiatives
- emerging technology solutions
- funding and financing opportunities and support
- other energy related enquiries.

The Queensland Farmers’ Federation’s Energy Information Service for Landholders has been developed and operates with the assistance of a grant from the Queensland Government as part of the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan.

QBEST Ag
The QBEST Ag program is now fully subscribed. You can view case studies from the program here.
QBEST Ag is a free energy audit program to support farms reduce their energy spend. Through the program, participating farms received either an ‘appliance’ energy audit or a ‘whole of farm’ energy audit, dependent on their needs.
- An appliance audit = Pumping system, cold room, heating system (Type 3).
- A whole of farm audit = Farm compound NMI (National Metering Identifier) including packing shed, cold rooms, pumps, water heating etc (Type 2).
Eligible farms will be Large electricity users – NMI with consumption greater than 100,000kWh per year on a NMI (not added up over a few NMIs) – farms using over 80,000kWh will also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
